ROBIN HOOD
Music: Chris De Burgh & Dennis Martin
Book & Lyrics: Dennis Martin, Kevin Schroeder, Christoph Jilo
A legendary tale reimagined as a sweeping stage adventure set in a fractured kingdom. This new musical interpretation of the world-famous medieval saga dives into the political unrest and personal conflicts of 12th-century England — a world shaped by crusades, feudal power, and growing resistance.
Driven by an original score and a sharp, character-focused book, the story explores what it means to take justice into your own hands — and what it costs to become a symbol. A fight for freedom. A myth made human.

The 12th-century story is told with remarkable depth. It’s not just rich versus poor or king versus people that takes centre stage — the complex relationship between Robin and Guy is also given space, exploring the ambivalence between friendship and rivalry. Equally compelling is the unconventional love story between Marian and Robin, who face each other as both strangers and husband and wife.

The way they talk of honour —
— ROBIN HOOD (What’s left to believe in?)
of virtue, and the law.
All pomp and posture,
and that earnest little frown.
But behind the honeyed words,
not a single truth remains.
“For God? For England?”
“For the greater good?”
In the end,
they only care
for their own damn muck.
It’s all themselves.
Morality —
means nothing at all.

This arrow will end it.
— GISBOURNE (You or me)
The story of you and me.
This arrow — you’ll feel it, Loxley.
Your neck in my hands.
I’ll bleed you like a beast.
This arrow — you’ll feel it, Loxley.
