JUDITH Opens in Dortmund with 3,000 Singers in Front of 15,000 PeoplE

21 February 2026

Judith and the Miracle of Creation celebrated its world premiere last Saturday at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund. Bringing together 3,000 singers from across North Rhine-Westphalia, the new choral musical transformed the arena into a powerful, intergenerational statement of courage, dialogue and solidarity.

With state-of-the-art stage technology and a 200-square-meter video screen, the production combined an overwhelming choral sound with striking visual storytelling. Across two performances, around 15,000 audience members experienced a story that speaks directly to our time.

Written by Kevin Schroeder (book & libretto) and developed with music producer Michael Herberger alongside songwriters Laura Diederich, Ilja Krut and Johannes Pinter, the musical centers on the love story of Judith and Ammo — a contemporary tale about navigating difference and choosing cooperation over division.

The Dortmund premiere marks the only opportunity to see the show live in NRW before it embarks on a nationwide tour in 2027.
